Legislative Update

ONE MORE TIME!!

The Joint Finance Committee (JFC) is reconvening (Today), Tuesday, to finalize outstanding provisions, including the critical “wrap-up” motion or “999” which often includes last-minute funding decisions. If any additional support for K-12 education is to be included in this motion. Negotiations between legislative leadership and Governor Evers are reportedly nearing resolution, with the Legislature expected to meet on Wednesday to vote on the final budget.

Democratic votes may be essential for passage, making continued advocacy vital. Please maintain outreach to legislators in both parties to stress the need for increased special education aid and a general aid investment that supports revenue limit flexibility. Updates will follow as caucus negotiations unfold later today.
