‍ ‍Through the George IV Recovery Fund, schools in Wisconsin are able to obtain free Narcan kits for their building.

Over 400 Narcan Overdose Resource Kits Placed in Wisconsin, +216 Businesses and Organization Locations, +70 School Systems Provide for DPI AODA Annual Grant Recipients Strive to Create Increased Awareness of the Epidemic and Addiction Stigmas, Rehabilitation Assistance to Multiple Sober Living Facilities.

Wisconsin & Youth Opioid Overdose Facts

  • Since 2000, Over 13,500 Overdose Deaths in Wisconsin

  • From 2016 to 2023, The Leading Cause of death for the Youth Population Was Opioid Overdose Deaths at 640 (WI DHS)

  • An Average of 22 Adolescents 14-18 Years of Age Die Each Week in the US From an Opioid Overdose

  • Drugs laced with fentanyl have become the Leading Cause of Death for American Teens. In 2024, 94% of Wisconsin Teen Overdose Deaths Were Due to Fentanyl

  • In the National Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS), 20% of High School Students Reported They Can Buy Illicit Drugs on School Property

  • Teens Purchase Drugs via Snapchat and have them Delivered Anywhere Within Minutes.
