Description

By April 2027, school districts will be expected to meet updated website accessibility standards outlined in WCAG 2.1, but what does that actually mean for rural districts with limited capacity to make these necessary changes?

This session will break down what WCAG 2.1 includes, what must be updated to comply with federal law, and what school leaders can do - starting right now - to prepare. Learn what counts as an accessibility barrier, how to begin an audit of your current website, social media, and electronic communications, and the timeline and tools needed to bring your district into compliance without overwhelming your team. You'll walk away with an action plan and practical guidance to protect your district, serve your community, and ensure access for all.
