Description
It’s no secret disparities exist in our public education system. As educators, we have a responsibility to create outcomes that help close learning gaps, because after all, it’s not the students’ fault they don’t have access to what others do – but it’s them who will suffer.
Growing up in rural North Carolina showed me firsthand how students with limited access to quality educational materials are forced to make due. That experience led me to Amplify where I lead our Customer Experience, Tutoring, and Customer Insights functions, and in this session, I’ll discuss what inclusive curriculum looks like on the ground and in our classrooms. Specifically, I will discuss alternative ways to convey material when internet access presents a barrier, how tutoring infrastructure is an undervalued metric in supporting underserved students, and how early literacy promotion can help close education gaps across the country.
