Learn from our journey on how to leverage current rockstar staff members as instructional coaches in order to improve school culture, effectively use data to maximize student growth and achievement, and bridge communication between teaching staff and district administration. We will discuss how it works with your budget, how it works within your current school day schedule, the various roles and responsibilities of instructional coaches, as well as the services our coaches provide for our teaching staff.
PRESENTER: Kelly Schaefer - Riverdale School District Coordinator of Instruction & Technology, Instructional Coach, District Assessment Coordinator, Social Media Coordinator
With 30 years of experience in education, Kelly Schaefer proudly serves the Riverdale School District in multiple leadership roles—including Coordinator of Instruction and Technology, Instructional Coach, and District Assessment Coordinator. Her work centers on one core mission: driving continuous improvement for students, staff, and the district as a whole. Kelly’s background includes teaching a wide range of grade levels and subjects, with a strong focus on mathematics and upper elementary education. That classroom experience grounds her approach to coaching, curriculum development, and data-informed decision-making. She is passionate about creating inclusive environments where both students and educators feel a sense of belonging and are empowered to grow. This year, Kelly has also embraced the role of Social Media Coordinator for Riverdale, as she loves highlighting the achievements of our students and staff and sharing the incredible things happening in Riverdale with our greater community.
PRESENTER: Lynn Tarrell - Riverdale School District Instructional Coach, District Reading Specialist, District TItle 1 Coordinator
Lynn Tarrell is a dedicated educator and experienced instructional coach with a passion for empowering teachers and enhancing student learning. With 27 years of experience in education, she has worked as an elementary teacher, Title 1 teacher, reading specialist and instructional coach. She has worked closely with educators across grade levels to support effective teaching strategies, promote reflective practice, and foster collaborative learning environments. Lynn’s work is rooted in the belief that strong coaching relationships are key to sustained professional growth and improved classroom outcomes.
PRESENTER: Cheri Wilkinson - Riverdale School District Elementary Math Coach
Cheri has been in education for 14 years. She spent her first 11 years teaching first grade and for the past three years, she’s been working as an instructional coach and math interventionist, supporting both teachers and students. As an instructional coach, she partners with teachers to refine instruction, try out newstrategies, and navigate the ever-changing world of education. She's passionate about helping educators feel confident, capable, and empowered.
