DESCRIPTION:

‍ ‍In small and rural districts, who tells your school’s story if you don't? When critical website accessibility mandates hit one small district, an 11-year veteran math and science teacher did not wait to be asked—she stepped up to champion the cause. Driven by a passion for celebrating her school community, she volunteered to take on a total website migration, all while teaching six classes a day, running district social media, recording daily announcements, and managing digital signage.

With zero formal background in web design or PR, this "accidental communications director" has pivoted from a failed "DIY" fix to a steep technical learning curve on the fly. This session is an inspiring, real-talk guide for any educator who wants to amplify their school’s voice without burning out.  Come away with tips and resources that have helped guide this teacher towards sanity in all of the hats that she wears in her district!
